Last year we got together to discuss some of the latest research on performance for the female physiology. It’s a rapidly growing field—easy to do when just a few years ago research on female performance made up just 4% of studies…
A big question that came up during and after that session swirled around the “How” and “Why” of training. The words make it sound like something reserved just for competitive athletes striving for a goal to win something or reach a personal best achievement.
But these training protocols are proving to be a critical component of health and longevity for anyone with a menstrual cycle--with huge potential to help manage symptoms as this cycle wanes through peri- and post-menopause. And the strategies will help anyone who enjoys outdoor activities to get even more time and enjoyment out of them.
Bring a notebook and a pencil to this session! Lyra will guide you on how to build a plan, calibrate your effort, and monitor your recovery. You can take a look at her own log, and see the way that she puts this knowledge into practice as a coach and career mountain guide solidly in early perimenopause herself!
As always, all are welcome! It is great for everyone to be aware of the best practices in training the female physiology. (If you didn’t make it to last year’s talk, that is OK, you won’t be left behind!)
