Join House of Sumoud and Colchuck Consignment on January 29 from 7:00-8:30pm for a screening of “Resistance Climbing” — this is a 2023 film about climbing in Palestine.
We’ll be joined in person by the film’s director of photography, Austin Siadak as we discuss the film and the importance of freedom of movement and expression through climbing. We’ll reflect on how a simple act of an occupied people accessing the great outdoors on a climb or a hike can be a powerful expression of self-determination — something so threatening to colonizers and occupiers, they try to make it impossible.
Light snacks will be provided. Please bring your own chair for the screening.
